Our Work

The Education Committee orchestrated several webinars this past year, including subspecialty highlights for Orthopaedic Oncology, Foot & Ankle, and Arthroplasty. In addition, we have collaborated with other committees to feature topics such as Alternative Careers after Orthopaedic Training, the Presidential Book Club, Contract Negotiation, and Academic Promotion.

We are excited about our 2025 webinars, such as Surgical Ergonomics, Billing & Coding (with Women in Arthroplasty), and the recently held Journal Club with SpeakUpOrtho.

The committee also continues to oversee research surveys distributed to RJOS members. Along with the Scientific Committee, the Education Committee has planned the second annual RJOS Research Day.

Visit rjos.org/committees/education-committee to submit research surveys or webinar ideas. The purpose of the education committee is to provide educational opportunities for RJOS members, both as learners and teachers. We aim to develop webinars for the membership featuring member speakers, review and distribute quarterly surveys, and assist in the educational content for the RJOS annual meeting. We are always on the lookout for new ways to feature the fantastic talent of our members, so please get in touch with ideas at info@rjos.org

Webinars

2023 marked the advent of the RJOS Bimonthly Subspecialty Spotlight series, showcasing the talents of our members. Each webinar features practicing surgeon members discussing their areas of expertise. This year we will feature webinars on hand, pediatrics (hip preservation), trauma, and spine. If you are interested in planning one of these webinars, please email at info@rjos.org

Please visit the RJOS calendar to join our webinars.

Surveys

RJOS has implemented Survey Request Guidelines. All survey requests received from RJOS members, will be reviewed by the Education Committee, for approval by the RJOS Board of Directors. Only those surveys approved by the Board, in accordance with the Survey Request Guidelines, will be sent to the RJOS membership. Please review our list of past surveys to ensure your request is not duplicative of past surveys. To submit a survey request, please contact us at info@rjos.org.

Speakers Bureau

Are you looking for a speaker for your event? RJOS has created a list of women in orthopaedics who can speak on various topics. We encourage groups and institutions to select RJOS representatives to speak at invited lectures, courses, and conferences. Please visit our Speakers Bureau page.
