Early Career Mentoring

Early Career Development Mentorship Program
Details and application coming soon!

"Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.” - Benjamin Franklin

Participating in the RJOS early career development mentorship program offers a unique and invaluable opportunity for personal and professional growth. Early career women in orthopedics will gain access to seasoned mentors who can provide tailored guidance, share their experiences, and offer strategic insights into navigating the complexities of work and life in orthopedics.

Our goal is to foster relationships that will help you overcome barriers, build resilience, and advance confidently in your orthopedic career. This also allows an opportunity for mentors to provide valuable insights into how they navigated the unique challenges faced by women in orthopedics

Requirements for mentors:
• Active member in good standing
• Willingness to organize schedule to meet via phone or zoom monthly with their mentee
• Willing to attend the RJOS annual meeting at AAOS

Requirements for mentees:
First 10 years of practice
• Candidate or active member in good standing
• Willingness to meet via phone or zoom monthly with their mentor
• Willing to attend the RJOS annual meeting at AAOS

*Selection for the mentorship program is not guaranteed and is dependent on the number of mentor volunteers. The RJOS goal is to provide every interested mentee with a suitable one-on-one mentor. This commitment requires monthly zoom or phone meetings as well as an in-person meeting commitment at the RJOS annual meeting, hosted concurrently with the AAOS meeting.
