The Ruth Jackson Orthopaedic Society (RJOS), in partnership with the AAOS Orthopaedic Political Action Committee (OrthoPAC) is pleased to announce a new Fellowship opportunity, the Health Strategy and Advocacy Research (Health STAR) Fellowship.  

 This Fellowship will focus on Health Care Strategy, Policy and Advocacy. The goal of the Fellowship is to further RJOS participation in and understanding of orthopaedic advocacy and health policy. The Fellowship will also result in a publishable project, and optionally, work on a Bill related to health policy and advocacy whose topic will be developed before the Fellowship begins.

 To be eligible to apply for the Health STAR Fellowship, the application must meet all three of the following criteria:

 

  • Applicant must be a Fellow member in good standing in RJOS (Active, Candide or Fellow member only)
  • Applicant must be a Fellow member of the AAOS PAC, and must remain a member for a at least five years following the Fellowship and,
  • Applicant must be a Fellow member of her/his State Orthopaedic Society
