2020 RJOS Grant and Scholarship Information

The Ruth Jackson Orthopaedic Society (RJOS) is pleased to offer the following grant/scholarship opportunities to RJOS members in 2020.

Information on eligibility and application requirements are listed below for each grant/scholarship. Grant applications will open in mid-August with an application deadline in September.  

 

MEDICAL STUDENT ANNUAL MEETING SCHOLARSHP

Who Is Eligible:

Must be a student member of RJOS in good standing who is currently enrolled in a medical school program

Recipient must attend the 2020 RJOS Annual Member Meeting on March 24, 2020 in Orlando, FL

Application Documentation Requirements:

Current CV

Letter of recommendation from a faculty member at your medical school

 

RESIDENT STUDENT ANNUAL MEETING SCHOLARSHP

Who Is Eligible:

Must be a resident member of RJOS in good standing who is currently enrolled in a residency program

Recipient must attend the 2020 RJOS Annual Member Meeting on March 24, 2020 in Orlando, FL

 Application Documentation Requirements:

Current CV

Letter of recommendation from a faculty member in your residency program

 

JACQUELIN PERRY, MD RESIDENT RESEARCH GRANT  

Who Is Eligible:

Must be a resident member of RJOS in good standing who is currently enrolled in a residency program

Recipient must attend the 2020 RJOS Annual Member Meeting on March 24, 2020 in Orlando, FL

Recipient must provide a poster of your research project for display at the 2021 RJOS Annual Member Meeting on March 9, 2021 in San Diego, CA

 Application Documentation Requirements:

Current CV

Research/Author Summary – form provided in application

Financial Disclosure – form provided in application

  

ALEXANDRA KIRKLEY, MD ACADEMIC TRAVELING FELLOWSHIP

Who Is Eligible:

Must be an Active, Candidate or Fellow member of RJOS in good standing

Recipient must attend the 2020 RJOS Annual Member Meeting on March 24, 2020 in Orlando, FL

 Application Documentation Requirements:

Current CV

Letter of recommendation from a current RJOS member  

 Travel and Reporting Requirements:

Travel Itinerary must be submitted to RJOS by January 15, 2020

Travel must be completed by June 30, 2020

Final expenses must be submitted to RJOS by July 15, 2020

Short written report must be submitted to RJOS for publication is 2020 newsletter

Recipient must give a five- minute presentation regarding the fellowship experience at the 2021 RJOS Annual Member Meeting on March 9, 2021 in San Diego, CA

 

CLINICAL/BASIC SCIENCE RESEARCH GRANT

Who Is Eligible:

Must be an Active or Candidate member of RJOS in good standing

Recipient must attend the 2020 RJOS Annual Member Meeting on March 24, 2020 in Orlando, FL

Recipient must prepare a five-minute podium presentation for the 2021 RJOS Annual Member Meeting on March 9, 2021 in San Diego, CA

Application Documentation Requirements:

Bio Sketch – form provided in application

Budget – form provided in application

Financial Disclosures – form provided in application
