RJOS Annual Meeting

UPDATE:  RJOS 2021 Annual Meeting Postponed until March 2022

After reviewing the results of the recent member survey regarding travel restrictions and projected attendance, the RJOS Board of Directors and Annual Meeting Program Chairs have made the difficult decision to postpone the 2021 RJOS Annual Member Meeting and Professional Development Symposium.

The Annual Meeting Program planned for 2021 in San Diego are truly best suited for an in-person setting.   Keynote speakers Peggy McIntosh, who will speak on racism/ white privilege and Victoria Alexander, who will speak on intersectionality are worth the wait of an extra 6 months!!  These talks will be followed by an incredible panel led by Dr. Alexander, which will provide an opportunity to ask questions of these internationally regarded leaders - in person.

The Professional Development Symposium planned for 2021, with keynote address “Identifying Your Authentic Value Proposition” by Rikki Sobel, Vice President of Marketing and Integration at Integra LifeSciences will also be postponed.  This interactive and networking program is also best suited for an in-person session.

We will hold the RJOS 2022 Annual Meeting and Leadership Symposium, in conjunction with the AAOS Annual Meeting in March 2022 in Chicago, IL.  Thank you for holding out for these incredible programs!

In the interim, we are planning two excellent virtual programs that will help prepare us for the March in person meeting.  The first is a session on discrimination, bullying, sexual harassment, and harassment issues, where we will invite chairs, program directors and trainees to answer tough questions, where we will highlight #SpeakUpOrtho, and where we will announce the 2021 Courage Award Winner!!  The second session will be on Allyship and Bystander Training.

RJOS Grant and Scholarship Opportunities Update

RJOS will not be accepting grant or scholarship applications for 2021.   RJOS will open grant applications for the 2022 Grants and Scholarships in October 2021.   The 2022 grant and scholarship recipients will be recognized at the 2022 RJOS Annual Meeting in Chicago, IL.
