The Ruth Jackson Orthopaedic Society held the 2022 RJOS Annual Member Meeting on Tuesday, March 22nd in Chicago, Illinois. A special thank you to the Annual Meeting Committee Co-Chairs, Drs. Corrina Franklin and Linda Suleiman for developing this excellent program.
The keynote speaker Peggy McIntosh, PhD, Senior Research Scientist of the Wellesley Centers for Women, and the founder of the National SEED (Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity) Project on Inclusive Curriculum presented White Privilege and Anti-Racism. Victoria Alexander, MEd lean an outstanding presentation, Intersectionality, followed by a panel discussion. Panelists included Ayesha Abdeen, MD, Jaime L. Bellamy, DO, Carla Bridges, MD, Seth Leopold, MD, Shain A. Lipa, MD, MPH and Selina Poon, MD, MHP, MS.
RJOS was pleased to present the following awards during the Annual Meeting.
Freddie Fu He For She Award was presented to Seth Leopold, MD
The first RJOS She For She Award was presented to Lisas K. Cannada, MD
The 2022 RJOS Courage award was presented to Marueen Maciel, MD
