Make an Impact with Your Support
The mission of the Ruth Jackson Orthopaedic Society is to promote the professional development of women in orthopaedics throughout all stages of their careers. Our goals include providing education, mentorship, sponsorship, and fostering the development of the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons while providing resources and opportunities for our members to maximize their growth professionally and personally.
Our extensive network of practice settings, specialty and geographic areas, allow members to choose mentors who best fit their needs.
We believe advancing the future of women in orthopaedics requires strong advocates that foster responsibility and action.
RJOS has seen incredible growth and expansion over the years. We asked some of our fellow RJOS members to share why membership matters.

Meeting female orthopedic surgeons in a variety of career stages has allowed me to gain a unique perspective and find mentors to guide me through professional and personal journeys. Through both mentorship and education, being part of RJOS has allowed me to grow as a leader, surgeon, and educator.

RJOS has played a major role in my career already. In addition to mentorship, RJOS has supported my education and research through generous scholarships. Thanks to RJOS’s support, I hope to help make advancements in the field.

Through RJOS I found several mentors that not only have provided incredible career advice, but also personal advice. RJOS has shown me that it is possible to have a successful career as a female surgeon and a happy family.
Jennifer Moriatis Wolf, MD, PhD
Professor, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery
The University of Chicago Medicine
I first experienced RJOS as a resident – as the fourth woman ever in my residency, it was energizing to meet a group of engaged female orthopaedic surgeons! The fact that RJOS existed as a network and resource was incredibly valuable to me as I moved through my training.
Shaping the Future of Women in Orthopaedics
To kick off our 40th anniversary, we launched our 40th Anniversary Giving Campaign with the goal of raising $40,000 from our members and supporters! As of December 12, RJOS has reached its campaign goal!!. A generous supporter who matched all funds raised during the campaign will now match up to $100,000! This donor match is an incredible opportunity to double the campaign's impact to sustain our mission, provide more resources for our members, and expand our scholarships.
Help us reach our goal of $100,000
Your support will ensure our RJOS programs, grants, and resources will remain available for our members. We hope you will join us in showing your commitment to the future of RJOS and the long-term growth of this society.Raised $40,000Goal $100,000
